Business Networking is a great way to build your business. It has certainly been a great help to me in building greatvideo.co.uk so I thought I would just say a little bit about the groups I am a member of. I have now become a self-confessed serial networker. If you want to grow and strengthen your business I would highly recommend you increase your profile by getting out there and networking.
Business Networking Organisations
There is an abundance of business networking today. Some groups have been around longer than others, but riding on the wave of “Start Up Britain” a lot more have popped up over the last few years. Even if you already have a contact inviting to their group, it’s worth taking a look around at the different organisations so you can choose one that suits you. I have visited quite a number of business networking groups and have first-hand membership experience of three. They are all different, and yet they all work for me:
Kingston Chamber of Commerce – the Chamber is a friendly and supportive organisation that exists to promote business in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. They have breakfast, lunch and evening events and also organise the Kingston Business Expo. See their website for more information – Kingston Chamber of Commerce
BNI – it’s the world’s biggest business referral organisation, and was my first introduction to networking. It gives you a great opportunity to build long term relationships with business people in your area. They become an extension to your sales team and you do the same for them. Here’s a link to one of the best BNI groups around – see the video above, and even better come and visit – BNI Elmbridge
4Networking – a less formal network but still with a focus on business. As well as a chance to introduce your business to a room full of people, you get to choose three people to have short one-to-one meetings with right there and then – book a meeting to try it out 4Networking
